To offset a very small portion of our costs to pick up furniture and other items from our generous donors, we have always charged a service fee. That fee did not cover the costs of two employees, gasoline, insurance, maintenance, and other costs associated with sending our pickup teams throughout Northeast Ohio.
Now, those costs have increased, in some cases doubled, since the beginning of the year.
To help offset the impact of inflation on our costs, we are implementing a new fee structure with all pickups scheduled after July 1. The service fee is based on the location of the items in the house or apartment and the difficulty of removing them. Pickups above the first floor in apartment buildings can only be scheduled if there is an elevator.
The fee structure is as follows:
All items located on a first floor, on the porch, or in a garage:

Items above or below the first floor in a house:

$100 if up to a second floor or down to a basement

$125 if up to a second floor and down to a basement

Items in an apartment building above the first floor:

$150 if more than one level inside the apartment

We thank you for your understanding of the reason for these changes and ask for your continued support of our mission to help those in need in Northeast Ohio.
